On the riddle of Cosmic Gas: Photon Propagation in a Stochastic Modulus Background: A Testable Effective Field Theory
Abstract
We develop and expand a minimal effective-field-theory framework describing photon propagation through a weakly coupled stochastic scalar sector ("cosmic gas"), deriving testable dispersion, decoherence, and spectral signatures across astrophysical and laboratory baselines.
